Description

Certified Welders capable of handling all your welding needs!

Welding and plasma cutting are gaining in popularity over the past several years and for good reason. It has never been easier to get a clean, professional quality weld, or cut. Modern welding and cutting techniques have come a long way from the days of the torch. Users can now get a clean, professional quality cut, without spending outrageous amounts of money.

Capricorn Engineering Works has welders and weldingequipment capable of welding of aluminium, stainless, steel, copper, nickel and other materials. We can also cater for welding of special materials and hold many weld procedures for pipe, plate and marine. Our premises include production welding facilities and we also provide site welding facilities. We currently have Tig and Mig ticketed welders.

Mig Welders use a wire feed instead of an electrode. They use create less heat which means less metal distortion and this also allows you to weld thinner material. This type of welder is great for sheet metal and auto body work. You can continuously feed the wire by just pulling a trigger on the mig welding gun. Mig welding can be accomplished with flux core wire or with solid wire and gas.

Tig welding is a intensely fine and delicate welding technique. For this you showing off to preserve you torch in one hand and use a filler rod in the added. The idea is that you slowly feed the filler rod into the weld as you go. You can weld when TIG or GTAW, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding without using the filler rod and understandably just melt the two bits of metal together. This is known as “fusing”, where using the heat from arc you melt and merge it together.

We have a highly skilled team with the capability of translating your design into a precision finished item. We apply a broad range of high-tech and conventional fabrication skills that helps in cost-effective manufacturing of many products. We are proud to say that complex structures are assembled and produced in our fabrication department.
